The movie is beautifully made with powerful visuals
This is the second time Paul Schrader has directed one of the banks' After adapting the novels for the screen, his Affliction (1997), I saw this at the film’s premiere in Cannes. OH CANADA is a very original film from one of the masters of cinema, a true work of art.
It features beautiful cinematography and excellent production design
The acting is strong, especially Richard Gere in the title role. He gives a great and memorable performance in the spirit of Jack Nicholson in Five Easy Wins – a complex, not always likable, but fascinating character.
It is recommended
It may not be for everyone, but I think it’s one of 39-year-old Paul Schrader’s greatest achievements and a gift to film lovers.
