production, especially American
Line of Events
In the midst of an international crisis, Kate Wyler, a career diplomat, lands a high-profile job for which she is ill-suited, with tectonic implications for her marriage and political future. The producers convinced both the American and British governments to allow them to use real environments as filming locations for the series, including the still fresh US Embassy (at Nine Elms), which opened in 2018. Britain allowed filming in the Foreign Secretary’s office, a rare honor for any film or film.
Aired at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards (2024)
The only place missing was Winfield House, the actual residence of the US ambassador. Although it is accurately described as the largest residential plot in London (11 hectares) besides Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming. I suddenly looked at the night agent, I thought it couldn’t get much better, I was wrong.
So cerebral and fascinating
I loved every second of this series. Everything you could hope for in a series. The characters and acting were first class.
Played to perfection
It was great to see the lovely Rufus Sewell again and what a role he played because you never knew what he would come up with next. Keri Russell was simply amazing as an ambassador. I also loved David Gyas.
The best political show since The West Wing
All in all, a great series, maybe a little short, but worth a watch. excellent!
